To start, I have to say that this years’ Globes was one of the most exciting style-wise by far. SO many daring and amazing choices.
Here are some of my favourites:
Of course, some were extraordinary! Here are my top 5 best:
I’m loving this dress. It’s subtle and classic but if you look closely there is a daring edginess to it. Well done Elizabeth.
Could the colour of this dress be anymore gorgeous? And the cut it to die for. The perfect mix of retro and modern. I could do without the matchy-matchy shoes though.
Oh Maria! This would have been my favourite dress of the evening if it wasn’t for that hair! AUGH. It just doesn’t work Something soft and side swept would have been a beautiful contrast to the sharp detailing.
My #2 is a very close second. Cate is a huge favourite of mine and she always seems to both push the boundaries and look incredible from head to toe. This look is perfection.
Not much to say about this but WOW! This colour is impossible to ignore and the smooth To Ford-esce sihloutte is heaven.
But as always there are a few that always just miss the mark.
Here are my top 5 worst of the evening:
I hate putting pregnant women on the worst list (being a mom of 2 myself) but it can be done well and this just doesn’t work. Just too many flowers and too blousy. I wish she would have worn something that hugged her beautiful pregnant frame a bit more.
Not sure what Sandy was trying to do here but she’s been so flawless on the red carpet in the last couple of years that statistically she was due for a fashion fail.
This is the perfect example of poor fit. Fabulous colour but the top just doesn’t work and it spoils the whole look. I would have love to see some cap sleeves here to balance out the proportions.
And my #1 WORST DRESSED for the night is…
Seriously… the back of this dress is so bad that I don’t even need to see the front to know it was the worst of the night. All the magic in Hogsworth could fix this dress.
