When it comes to shopping, there aren’t many of us with unlimited budgets. That’s why we need to really focus on purchasing with a purpose.
Shopping for Extraordinary
To start, we all need basics (as mentioned in “Build Your Basics“). But beyond that, creating your personal style is about creating the rest of your wardrobe around things that you feel are actually extraordinary. I’m not kidding here ladies. If you buy something you aren’t crazy about then I guarantee you that it’ll be either sitting in your closet with the tags on 6 months from now or will just be more filler in an already boring and thoughtless closet. So before each purchase…ask yourself, “Is this extraordinary”. If you say YES! I’ll die without it! Then get it. A good test is to leave it for a day or two. If it’s still on your mind that much time later then it probably is extraordinary.

There are all sorts of shopping budgets out there. That’s why I’ve created a list of vouch-worthy Work Wear shopping options that range from LOW ($) to SKY HIGH ($$$). These are tried and true places to find excellent quality Work Wear for building your wardrobe.
Shop Like You Mean It
When it comes to shopping there can be a lot of pressure and rushed decisions involved. Take a look at my Top 10 Shopping Tips to make sure that you get the most of the shopping time you have.
For those of us with less time on our hands… you may appreciate those online gems that you can peruse in your five minutes that you have to yourself (to all my moms out there). Check out “Great Online Shopping“.
X does NOT Mark the Spot
Of course…I must also include a few places on my X list due to personal experience with poor quality and/or their having an overwhelming amount of “junior” sized merchandise (women should avoid shopping here at these locations at all cost even though they are inexpensive). Shop at your own risk. You’ve been WARNED!
If you have a place to recommend or one to add to the X list, feel free to comment below. I would love to hear from you!
But, no matter what your budget, it’s always a good idea to shop with a plan in mind. Whether you are starting from scratch or trying to identify the pieces that are missing links in your wardrobe, you need to know what you are looking for.
